hi - i'm an industrial designer living in the u.s. i'm also taiwanese-american and love to read all things taiwans especially architecture. i did want to pursue architecture as a career but changed it to product/industrial design.

i have seen your winning design. im sorry, but imo it just seems like your design will create a huge metal blighted eyesore on taichung's skyline. i can imagine such a complicated design with all that criss-crossing metal tubing will be very to clean and will just become dirty in taiwan's smoggy environment.

and exactly how is it "environmentally-friendly" when it will produce a huge mass of steel tubing? the steel industry is not exactly a very environmental industry as you know. and all that wasted space the structure will produce that wont even be used for living or commercial purposes - all to just support a rooftop garden?? i dont understand it at all.

i often peruse www.skyscraperpage.com and skyscrapercity.com. there is a taiwan forum in each one. please feel free to go there and post your rationale for your concept in the taiwan forums. there are many people who will gladly look forward to reading your comments and participate in a lively discussion.

    regards,

    paul
